WELCOME TO SHERMAN VALLEY FARM

What's the correct way to pick an apple?

It's important not to break off the small branch the apple is attached to. This small branch is next year's apple. Use your thumb to support the apple's stem and corresponding branch (or spur) as you pull gently upward and outward with some twist. Or use two hands. It's not rocket science, just be careful and gentle.

Do you still have blackberries?

We are phasing out our blackberries so for all purposes, no. I believe they contracted a virus of some kind and the plants are loosing vigor and not producing like they used to.

Do you have any other fruit to pick besides apples?

No, we just have apples at this time. Unless you count that one crabapple tree in the corner of the orchard.

Do you sell apples off the ground?

Yes. I humbly ask $0.50 per pound though.

Do you sell apples already picked?

No. Not at this time. Any apples that we pick are intended for apple cider.
